Leftover Pizza Dough? Make Bread/Cheesy Garlic Bread!

There are very few things in life that are as simple and satisfying as freshly baked bread straight from the oven. Add to that some rich butter and a few flakes of sea salt, or cheese with garlic and basil, and you've got delicious simplicity at its best.

When it’s time for pizza, I always have a couple of spare dough balls on hand while cooking for friends and family. In part, because I never want to let people go hungry, but it’s also great to have extra dough so others can have a go at making their own pizza.

Using leftover pizza dough is a great way to avoid food waste, and my go-to recipe is bread. One thing I love about this one is that it can be baked in the Ooni oven while it’s cooling down, using the leftover heat from firing the pizzas.

If I’m still hungry and there's leftover cheese, then I’ll make an epic cheesy garlic bread, topped with loads of cheese and garlic butter – my pizza kryptonite.

Note

The bread can be made with a variety of pizza dough styles, but we think our Sourdough, Neo-Neapolitan or Classic Pizza Dough all work well. Make sure to prepare your dough ahead of time to ensure it rises at room temperature before firing up your oven.
